Essential Functions
Assess patient health status, compliance, and determine diagnostic/therapeutic procedures.
Provide acute and chronic care, taking histories and performing physicals.
Establish goals, treatments, and care plans with physician and patient/family.
Coordinate interdisciplinary treatment and consult physicians.
Document findings, treatments, and patient information in the medical record.
Educate patients/families on care and exercises.
Serve as an education resource for patients, families, and staff.
Supervise Physical Therapy Assistants and Technicians.
Provide ongoing education to staff and assist the director with patient issues.
Maintain patient confidentiality.
Demonstrate current competencies for the position.
Education & Certification
Master’s degree.
Current certification as a Physical Therapist.
Experience
Two or more years in spine orthopedics and general orthopedics.
Two years in an outpatient PT clinic.
Experience with orthopedics preferred.
Knowledge
Acute and chronic protocols, medication administration, and physical care delivery.
Patient assessment and measurement of physiological indicators.
Health promotion principles and patient learning measurement.
Skills
Gathering and analyzing physiological, socioeconomic, and emotional patient data.
Accurate patient evaluation in person or by phone, providing appropriate advice, intervention, or referral.
Adjusting care plans based on patient changes.
Abilities
Responsible decision‑making within the scope of practice.
Development of health education programs and materials.
Collaboration with all health care team members.
