Join WVU Medicine Camden Clark Medical Center as a Registered Nurse in the Emergency Department. This full‑time shift (11:00 A‑11:00 P) delivers nursing care through the nursing process, ensuring quality patient care outcomes. Core Duties & Responsibilities
Demonstrate safety and continuity of care using documentation, handoff tools, and processes. Create care plans using the nursing process: assessment, diagnoses, interventions, and evaluation of outcomes. Recognize patient safety concerns and use appropriate resources. Provide education tailored to patient learning needs. Incorporate patient individuality and mutuality data in care delivery. Perform adequate patient assessment and documentation. Use teach‑back methods to evaluate the effectiveness of education. Utilize evidence‑based practice in nursing care. Participate in the organization’s patient‑centered care model. Document problems and issues in the plan of care. Grow in ability to care for complex patients through consultation with experienced colleagues. Commit to lifelong learning through self‑reflection and inquiry. Retain accountability for delegated nursing care. Recognize scope of practice for all interprofessional team members. Participate in holistic, culturally sensitive data collection. Assess the impact of family dynamics on health and wellness. Integrate ANA’s code of ethics to guide practice. Identify discriminatory health‑care practices in diverse populations. Individualize care based on patient beliefs, barriers, and readiness to learn. Minimum Qualifications
Current Registered Nurse license issued by the state or multi‑state license through the Nurse Licensure Compact. Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire. Less than 12 months of experience as a registered nurse. Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree. Physical Requirements
Minimize manual lifting; limit to 35 lbs; use lift equipment as needed. Ability to lift, move, stoop, reach, stand, walk, and carry equipment weighing 40 lbs or more. Normal visual and hearing acuity. Working Environment
Protracted or irregular hours. Exposure to biohazards, infectious diseases, the deceased, and electrical hazards. Work with hands in or near water. Skills and Abilities
Effective interpersonal communication, negotiation, and conflict resolution. Competent clinical practice and critical thinking to deliver patient care efficiently. Flexibility to adapt to changes in work volume and scheduling. Ability to work under high stress and adapt to varying workloads. CAPE Program (Career Advancement)
Level 1
No experience required; all graduate nurses with less than 12 months of experience at diploma, ADN, BSN, or higher. Level 2
Meets Level 1 requirements; one year of experience. Level 3
Two years of experience, plus one specialty certification; competency in charge nursing, precepting, and QI participation. Level 4
BSN or higher (or ADN/diploma with 5 years experience); one specialty certification required; charge or precepting experience; QI and shared governance participation. Level 5
MSN or higher with 4 years experience, or BSN with 4 years and a health‑related master’s, or BSN with 5 years; one specialty certification; charge and precepting; QI and shared governance at organizational level. Level 6
