Job Overview
Under direct and indirect supervision, the Information Technology Specialist handles user hardware and software issues.
Functions include installing, modifying, repairing laptops, desktops, and addressing software problems. The specialist provides technical advice and support to system users, troubleshoots, presents technical information, conducts software maintenance and testing, manages vendor relationships, and tunes software performance.
Reports to the Information Technology Manager. Requires deep knowledge of IT security and desktop security solutions, and awareness of equipment, software, and services necessary for system development and delivery. Must be an effective communicator (oral and written) and demonstrate strong leadership, time management, and interpersonal skills.
Required qualifications: a Bachelor’s degree in computer science, management, or a related field, plus one to two years of IT operations experience, or an equivalent blend of education, training, and experience delivering the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
