Dobbs Equipment, LLC
Dobbs Equipment is seeking an experienced Commercial Account Manager (CAM) to drive the sale, rental, and leasing of all new and used John Deere equipment and allied products distributed by Dobbs Equipment. The CAM will develop partnerships with current and potential clients to grow Dobbs Equipment’s (John Deere) market share within their designated territory.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Sell and promote the entire product line distributed by Dobbs Equipment
Grow and develop customer relationships and loyalty to increase market share
Prospect and cold‑call to expand the customer base and market presence
Quote, negotiate prices and credit terms, prepare contracts, and record and close orders
Provide on‑site expertise for demonstrations, machine inspections, and technical support
Maintain a contact‑management database and call log for the designated territory
Manage market awareness and deliver lost‑sales reports
Provide status reports to the sales manager on achievement of goals and objectives
Maximize rental conversions
Meet or exceed company targets for units, dollars, and gross profit
Control sales‑related expenses
Attend training and sales meetings to stay current with new equipment and special deals
Provide departmental feedback and trade‑in information when requested
Adhere to safety policies of Dobbs Equipment and client safety requirements
Qualifications
Valid driver’s license
Experience in equipment sales
Education, Skill, and/or Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s degree from a four‑year college or equivalent combination of education and related experience (minimum 3 years)
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
Effective communication skills with teammates and customers
Strong problem‑solving abilities
Self‑management and self‑motivation
Proficiency with MS Office, especially Excel and Outlook
Ability to apply common‑sense techniques to follow written, oral, or diagrammatic instructions
Basic arithmetic skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division in various units)
Quick learner with creative thinking skills
Extensive driving and overnight travel required
Bilingual language skills a plus
Work Environment The work environment includes exposure to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, and outdoor weather conditions. Noise levels are usually quiet.
Physical Demands
Regular standing, hand use, reaching, and communicative tasks
Frequent walking, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling
Occasional sitting
Regular lifting and moving of up to 50 pounds, occasionally up to 100 pounds
Vision requirements include close vision and color vision
