Project Manager
to lead commercial construction projects from preconstruction through closeout.
Position Overview The Project Manager is responsible for the successful planning, coordination, execution, and financial performance of commercial construction projects from our Birmingham office. This role requires strong leadership, communication, and problem‑solving skills, along with the ability to manage teams, schedules, and budgets while maintaining Bradford Building’s standards for quality and client service.
Key Responsibilities
Manage projects from contract award through final completion and closeout
Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and cost forecasts
Coordinate with owners, architects, engineers, and subcontractors
Lead project meetings and ensure clear communication among all stakeholders
Oversee subcontractor procurement, contracts, and performance
Review and manage submittals, RFIs, change orders, and pay applications
Ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, safety standards, and company procedures
Identify and proactively resolve project risks and challenges
Mentor and support project engineers and field staff
Maintain strong client relationships and represent Bradford Building professionally at all times
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
5+ years of experience managing commercial construction projects
Experience with ground‑up and/or major renovation commercial projects
Strong understanding of construction means and methods
Proficiency with project management software (Procore, Sage, Autodesk experience preferred)
Strong financial management and cost control skills
Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational abilities
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment
