Location: Forest View, IL Pay: $23.00 – $24.00
Basic Function:
Responsible for properly & safely cleaning castings using grinders and blending tools to remove and blend parting lines, chill marks, ingates, etc. Operate work instructions, bench castings and route & product information sheets to produce castings that meet customer requirements.
Responsibilities:
Accurate scanning in and out on jobs and proper reporting of processed quantities.
Wear proper safety equipment; keep work area clean and safe at all times.
Understand customer requirements, internal scrap challenges, rework, customer returns, and demonstrate ability to deliver quality & efficient workmanship.
Review & inspect all material being used, building self‑inspection into everything you make/process.
Complete, date and sign‑off on all routing information.
Perform job tasks efficiently according to given standards.
Use grinding wheels to remove ingate and riser pads.
Blend any surface that does not meet 250 surface finish using grinders and blending tools.
Complete routing, sign and date and fill out production paperwork and inspection procedures as required.
Follow job orders and written and verbal instructions for product specifications such as finishes, dimensions, tolerances, number of parts, fixtures and grinding wheels to be used.
Maintain tools, gauges and equipment in a clean, orderly, and safe manner.
Clean work area throughout the day as required.
Report any problems or discrepancies to immediate supervisor.
Skills:
Basic math skills.
Ability to read and understand all procedures required to perform assigned tasks.
Good communication skills.
Must pass a vision test.
Education / Experience / Training:
On‑the‑job training while working under an experienced operator until position certification is achieved.
