Overview
Project Manager with manufacturing experience responsible for managing one or more moderate to significantly complex projects. Provides expertise to review and drive execution of innovative solutions to technical issues, and leads cross‑functional teams to deliver on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
Responsibilities
Evaluates, determines, and drives project management activities for one or more moderate to significantly complex projects.
Provides expertise to review and drive execution of innovative solutions to technical issues. Delegates tasks to team members to execute and manage the project.
Manages team executing work to ensure successful project execution, including procurement, engineering, production, quality, etc.
Identifies gaps and risks within the project and develops resolutions to mediate those risks and gaps.
Develops cost, scope, and schedule framework for project elements; manages and intervenes as necessary to ensure delivery to cost, scope, and schedule agreements.
Notifies the Program Management Manager and upper-level leadership of escalations requiring significant adjustments that may impact the project.
Provides primary support and guidance to financial planning, monitoring, scheduling, and the preparation and release of technical/schedule information required for project planning.
Leads multiple aspects of financial planning, monitoring, reporting, scheduling, and communication required for project planning and control.
Performs technical, administrative, and logistical liaison roles with company, customers, sales, design, contractors, and regulatory agencies; may function as lead for one or more elements.
Defines and establishes engineering/production/project definitions, maintenance of schedules, and engineering releases to fulfill project on time, on cost, on quality, and with customer satisfaction.
Negotiates, evaluates, determines, and executes engineering project management activities for significant, complex projects or components.
Leads, directs, and applies extensive technical and operational knowledge to resolve significant technical issues for key projects.
Acts as primary and first point of contact for technical, administrative, and logistical issues with customers and outside project partners.
Leads day-to-day project requirements with matrix management; represents the project manager for delegated management responsibilities; assists in selecting and developing technical project employees.
Guides effective use of project resources including personnel, tools, and methods.
Qualifications
5-7 years of manufacturing project management experience
Mechanical / manufacturing background highly desirable
Ability to integrate complex engineering and production concepts with project management systems and processes
Advanced knowledge of project cost and forecasting concepts, including Earned Value and Baseline Change Control
Proven excellence in effective communication, interaction, and presentation skills
Knowledge of IMS engineering or manufacturing is desired
Desired PMP certification is a plus but not required
Education and Certifications
Bachelor’s degree in business or engineering discipline (or equivalent education and experience)
