As a busy interpreting service provider, we are seeking hard‑working, fully‑bilingual foreign‑language interpreters to provide in‑person interpretation for our local Nebraska clients. This is an opportunity to use your cultural knowledge to help non‑English speakers in the Omaha area.
Requirements
Fully bilingual in Swahili and English
Excellent communication and listening skills
Familiarity with medical terminology
Ability to maintain strict confidentiality/HIPAA compliance
In‑person interpreter only; must have local transportation to attend appointments
Technical skills for learning and using an online portal (printing and uploading vouchers required; printer access needed)
Interpreting experience and/or certification preferred
Background checks and drug screens required
Schedule is PRN (as needed), part‑time (or less), flexible based on interpreter’s availability and preferences. Applicants must have some availability Monday–Friday 7 AM–5 PM.
Independent Contractor Note: this is an independent contractor position with flexible hours. Hours are not guaranteed and depend on availability, languages spoken, and client needs.
Proof of Vaccination Requirement We require all interpreter candidates to provide proof of vaccination as part of the hiring process, to comply with client health and safety requirements. If you have a medical or religious exemption, inform us and appropriate accommodations will be considered. Be prepared to submit vaccination proof or exemption documentation prior to your interview. All medical information will be handled confidentially in accordance with applicable laws.
