Overview Assist the store manager in sales, appearance, and overall operations of the store. The role provides hands‑on training preparing the assistant manager for a future management position at another store or location. Bilingual candidates are encouraged to apply.

Essential Job Functions

Supervise the professional and retail operations of the store and all team members involved, including delivery installers and parts & merchandising specialists.

Work jointly with the district and store managers to recruit, test, hire, evaluate, promote, discipline, and discharge team members.

Communicate all information from Team Weekly and monthly store manager meetings to all team members.

Train new team members, handle performance evaluations, and recommend pay increases.

Assist in the hiring process by completing recruiting tasks, scheduling and participating in interviews, evaluating candidates, and collaborating with management to select qualified team members.

Support the store manager by ensuring safety compliance and that all team members receive appropriate training; monitor and reinforce safety expectations.

Make sales calls with or without the store manager and may be assigned a schedule for weekly customer calls.

Support the store manager in areas of store operations as assigned.

Maintain the delivery fleet and records for each vehicle. Ensure the store/HUB remains neat, clean, and organized at all times.

Use the electronic scheduling, clocking, and payroll system and learn to utilize its payroll entry functions.

Manage key components of gross profit, monitor professional customer returns for core and warranty abuse, review competitive price matches and price overrides, and review individual team member productivity and KPI dashboard daily.

Review the monthly P&L statement with the store manager and discuss areas of opportunity.

Required Qualifications

High School Diploma.

Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills.

Completion of the Assistant Manager Certification, Sales Specialist Training, and Manager Development Program.

Ability to read and match numerical/alpha characters quickly and accurately.

Knowledge of automotive parts, equipment, and systems.

Desired Qualifications

Experience at an O’Reilly store or distribution center.

Completion of an O’Reilly management training program.

Advanced computer skills.

A.S.E. Certification.

Fluency in multiple languages (Spanish highly desired).
