Position: Full‑time

General Function Responsible for all aspects of the Anti‑Reflective (AR) Coating process to produce quality eyewear that meets customer standards. Primary responsibility is the daily operation and maintenance of the large‑capacity AR coating machines and final quality inspection of outgoing lenses. The Sr Production Technician will adhere to the company’s quality and safety requirements during all operations.
Major Duties and Responsibilities
Operate large‑capacity AR coating machines and perform daily and weekly maintenance of vacuum coating chambers.
Keep a current and accurate log of all processes and maintenance for the machines.
Perform all aspects of AR Coater operation: clean machine, make ready, inspect each lens, load lenses into AR coating machine, select correct recipe and chemicals.
Perform necessary parts change‑outs, maintenance items, and quality testing on finished product.
Conduct final inspection on all batch coated lenses, verify performance, ensure coating meets specifications.
Troubleshoot machine/equipment problems and work with supervisor to resolve issues.
Pack completed work, review rejected lenses and re‑work or assign proper breakage codes.
Sandblast machine parts as needed.
Follow standard procedures, continually evaluate opportunities for improvement, provide recommendations to simplify jobs and reduce costs.
Effectively communicate with all levels of the organization to ensure understanding and proper application of company policies.
Actively participate and engage in continuous improvement processes.
Maintain work area and department in a neat, clean, organized condition.
Follow all company and manufacturer policies, ensure compliance with safety rules and regulations, maintain confidentiality of proprietary and HIPAA‑protected information.
Assist others as necessary to keep work current, meet deadlines, demonstrate a good attitude.
Provide training, work direction, and technical guidance for less experienced employees.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Position requires exposure to hazardous substances; safety training is required.
Basic Qualifications
High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
3+ years of manufacturing experience.
Ability to multi‑task, orient to detail, and operate in a fast‑paced environment.
Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and lift up to 15 pounds above head.
Specific vision abilities required by this job, including close vision.
Pay Range Starting rate at $20/hour; higher for experience.
