The Clinic Clerk is responsible for assisting with daily administrative and clerical functions of AACI Health Center. Duties include check‑out reception and patient care coordination ensuring accurate patient information.

Duties and responsibilities:

Coordinate the patient checkout process following provider visits.

Schedule follow‑up appointments, referrals, and lab/imaging tests as directed by medical providers.

Provide patients with visit summaries, educational materials, and clear next steps.

Ensure accurate documentation and communication of after‑visit instructions.

Monitor and process incoming messages in the Medical Assistant pool in‑basket including prescription refills, patient questions or concerns, and lab/test results.

Facilitate and help to ensure clear communication between providers, patients, and other clinic departments.

May provide clerical support in the clinic, including filing, word processing, copying, faxing, data entry, and mail delivery as needed.

Complete other related duties and projects, as assigned.

Qualifications Education & Experience:

High School Diploma or GED.

Two years or more of experience in a medical office or clinic required.

Medical Assistant training or certification.

Experience with Electronic Health Records Systems. EPIC EHR.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

Good verbal and written communication skills.

Excellent attention to detail.

Able to demonstrate working knowledge and understand HIPAA guidelines.

Proficiency in managing clinical in‑baskets and electronic documentation.

Ability to maintain sensitive and confidential information.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and basic office operations such as fax, phones, and filing.

Knowledge and experience with Epic EHR, preferred.

Verbal and written fluency in English required; Bilingual skills in a second language (Spanish, Chinese, Vietnamese) desired but not required.

Ability to use independent judgment within established guidelines.

Ability to organize work, set priorities, meet deadlines, and follow up on assignments.

Competencies:

Ability to communicate well with people of diverse cultural, professional, and experiential backgrounds.

Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships as part of a multi‑disciplinary team.

Working conditions

Work is performed in a standard health clinic setting. Basic safety precautions and the use of protective clothing or gear may be required.
