Job Description As a member of the logistics organization, the Logistics Planner-Warehousing will support the Regional Warehouse Manager. They will assist warehouse managers in assigned region with inventory capacity reviews, establishing best practices, provide on-site training, perform warehouse evaluations, and project management.
Responsibilities
Manage operational improvement along with warehousing/distribution inventory optimization.
Analyze inventory levels and supports the development of a replenishment strategy with Supply Chain
Identify opportunities for efficiency and cost reductions leading action to realize improvements
Analyze inventory levels in assigned locations and drive reduction of aged inventory.
Assist in analyzing current network and advise on current capacity/utilization of all warehouses.
Implement best in class warehousing processes and practices that drive operational efficiencies.
Lead racking optimization projects on site with assigned teams.
Implement best practice logistics principles, policies and, processes across the organization to improve operational and financial performance
Identify savings by removing waste or unnecessary steps in the logistics processes
Lead a safety culture throughout department. Support all safety initiatives.
Undertakes other special projects and responsibilities as assigned by supervisor
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or closely related equivalent experience in Supply Chain Management and/or Logistics preferred.
Experience in planning software, logistics scheduling, BI tools, and WMS/TMS systems.
Ability to lead in a team setting, solid written, verbal communication & interpersonal skills.
Above average knowledge of North American Geography related to freight lanes and back haul opportunities.
Ability to present and work at all organizational levels, internally & externally.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and related Office applications.
Experience with data analytics and analytic software.
Demonstrated ability to identify, process, and execute value added project work that results in bottom line savings for the company.
Demonstrated ability to organize, participate in, and lead teams.
Six Sigma, White Belt, Black Belt training preferred.
Willingness to travel when required-Up to 50%
