Position Summary The Senior Manager, Process Safety Management, Emergency Response and Occupational Safety is accountable for administering and executing process safety management and occupational safety programs for the site to achieve compliance with applicable local/federal regulations and result in an environmentally safe workplace. This includes oversight of capital renovations, new construction projects, and daily operational safety, in alignment with BMS standards and current Good Manufacturing Practices.

Responsibilities

Provide technical and regulatory guidance on process safety management and occupational safety issues, focusing on the recognition, evaluation and control of physical, chemical, and environmental hazards.

Develop proper procedures, work practices, and equipment to ensure compliance with all BMS standards, legal requirements, and regulations.

Conduct EHS self‑assessment programs, policies and procedures to ensure compliance with applicable local, federal regulations and company directives.

Review capital renovations and new construction projects to ensure environmental, industrial hygiene and safety issues are included from design.

Participate in inspections and audits by legal and regulatory agencies and serve as site contact for EHS community outreach activities.

Lead the implementation of Process Safety Management and Occupational Safety programs, including contractor safety & emergency response training.

Conduct process hazard analyses and support development of emergency pre‑plans and drill coordination.

Maintain statistics, trends and applicable reports and present findings; represent the site on EHS issues through professional industry associations.

Participate in process hazard reviews of new and existing equipment to ensure environmental and safety requirements are met from design.

Support the site’s departmental environmental, health and safety self‑inspection program.

Lead and implement the 14 elements of the process safety programs, business continuity and occupational safety, including electrical safety, contractor safety and fire protection.

Support the contractor qualification program to assure contractors meet minimum EHS requirements prior to offering services to BMS.

Administer the PSM incident investigation program to determine root cause, develop action plans to prevent recurrence and follow up to ensure improvements are implemented.

Lead as required and actively participate in the site’s EHS Committee.

Assist the department in complying with the budget and support the director in administrative areas such as budget, capital appropriation, change control and company representation.

Perform other related duties as required.

Education, Experience, Licenses & Certifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Engineering or related EH&S field.

At least five (5) years of experience in Environmental, Health and Safety within the pharmaceutical industry.

Full knowledge of applicable federal and Commonwealth rules and regulations.

Demonstrated leadership skills.

Strong negotiation and influencing skills.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills; capable of working with minimal direct supervision.

Good interpersonal skills.

Excellent problem‑solving skills.

Computer proficiency.

Bilingual in Spanish and English.

Compensation Overview Manati – PR – US: $82,030 – $99,405 per year. The starting compensation range is listed above for a full‑time employee (FTE) basis. Additional incentive cash and stock opportunities may be available. Final pay will be based on demonstrated experience and qualifications.
