Qualifications
Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelor’s degree and experience equivalent to four years of full‑time professional work in forestry, plant, pesticides, weights and measures, food and dairy, laboratory or other related agricultural or laboratory work that may be deemed by the agency.
Substitution of Experience for Education: Additional full‑time professional experience in a listed field may substitute for the required education on a year‑for‑year basis to a maximum of four years; there is no substitution for the required three years of specialized experience.
Substitution of Education for Experience: Graduate course work credit received from an accredited college or university in applicable fields may substitute for required experience on a year‑for‑year basis to a maximum of one year.
Necessary Special Qualifications: None.
Examination Method: Education and Experience, 100%, for Preferred Service positions.
Responsibilities
Assist in directing and coordinating agricultural programs such as inputs, pesticides, feed, seed, fertilizer, and other related agricultural program areas.
Assign, train, supervise, and evaluate assigned staff and their work; review and make recommendations for employment, promotion, demotion, transfer, and other human resources actions.
Assist in development, implementation, and monitoring of agricultural program policies and procedures.
Assist in studying organization, operations, and services and make recommendations for improvements affecting economy, efficiency, and quality.
Supervise the preparation and maintenance of a wide variety of records and reports.
