Job Description Join a world‑class academic healthcare system, UChicago Medicine Crown Point, located in Crown Point, Indiana, as an Emergency Department Registered Nurse. UChicago Medicine is an integrated academic and community health system with multiple primary medical facilities within the surrounding suburbs of Chicago. Crown Point is a two‑story, 130,000‑square‑foot multispecialty care center and micro‑hospital in Northwest Indiana, the academic health system’s largest off‑site facility and its first freestanding building in Indiana.
The Emergency Department Registered Nurse (ED RN) will perform primary nursing functions of assessing, planning, directing, performing, and evaluating patient care in the Emergency Room to patients of all ages suffering from various types of illness or trauma that requires emergency attention. The ED RN will serve as a professional role model by encouraging teamwork and collaborating with clinical and front office staff, administration, and other professional disciplines to ensure the delivery of high‑quality care and optimal patient outcomes with the highest level of patient satisfaction.

Essential Job Functions
Demonstrate the ability to manage care within the established standards of nursing care and practice as defined by the state of Indiana and required by hospital accrediting bodies.
Initiate care to stabilize patients and assist in managing life‑support needs by collaborating with physicians and clinical staff, demonstrating appropriate admission, discharge, and transfer procedures.
Provide high‑quality and high‑satisfaction bedside care and administer treatments under the direct supervision of the physician, anticipating patient needs and responding accordingly.
Accurately and concisely document services provided within the medical record in a thorough, timely manner.
Collect laboratory samples and perform lab testing in accordance with CLIA regulations and established policies and procedures.
Demonstrate the ability to perform laboratory quality controls and assessments, and perform routine daily, weekly, monthly, and periodic maintenance and function according to laboratory policy and procedures.
Participate in QAPI activities including accreditation preparation, survey process, and maintenance of accreditation, state, and CMS standards.
Attend and participate in all applicable facility meetings, training, and development workshops, and review/understand all required policies and procedures.
Ensure proper supplies, appropriate medical equipment and medications are available for patient care and par levels meet patient and facility needs.
Required Qualifications
Registered Nurse, in good standing, licensed in the state of Indiana.
Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a hospital Emergency Department.
Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, or ENPC required.

Shift: Nights, 7:00 pm–7:00 am with an every 3rd weekend requirement
