Job Summary Provides leadership and medical direction for the Palliative Care Department and staff. Provides input in the development of standards of care. Acts as a liaison between the Palliative Care Department and STHS medical staff.
Minimum Qualifications
Must be licensed by the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners to practice medicine with no restrictions.
Must be a staff physician of St. Tammany Health System.
Palliative Care Fellowship completed; Board Certified Palliative Care Physician preferred.
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through an International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR) course that includes a manikin check‑off.
ACLS and/or PALS preferred.
Valid and current state‑issued driver’s license and reliable transportation with current safety inspection.
Proof of automobile insurance covering at least the minimum liability limits required by state law.
Clear driving record with no suspended or revoked license, no 3 or more moving violations in the past 36 months, no 2 or more accidents in the past 36 months, no DUI or DWI within the past 24 months, no at‑fault fatal accident within the past 5 years, no leaving‑scene incident within the past 36 months, and no reckless driving within the past 12 months.
Physical Demands Must possess good physical health. Requirements include standing, sitting, or walking for long periods, lifting at least 50 pounds, and working with moderate noise levels.

Constant (67%‑100%): handling/feeling, talking, hearing, seeing
Frequently (34%‑66%): reaching
Occasionally (1%‑33%): lifting, carrying, pushing/pulling, climbing stairs or ladders, balancing, stooping, crouching
