NWTHS seeks dedicated, passionate Speech Language Pathologists to join our team of health‑care experts.
Position Summary Functions under the general supervision of the Supervisor of Physical Medicine. Assumes responsibility and accountability for a designated group of patients and provides speech and language evaluations, assessments, and treatments in accordance with established hospital and departmental policies. May orient staff and students and assume supervisory duties in the absence of the Supervisor.
Responsibilities
Perform speech and language evaluations and treatments for NICU patients.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized care plans.
Document interventions, progress, and outcomes following institutional guidelines.
Provide education and training to staff, students, and families as needed.
Maintain up‑to‑date knowledge of evidence‑based practices in speech‑language pathology.
Qualifications
Master’s level degree in Speech‑Language Pathology or equivalent and current state licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist.
Physical and Sensory Requirements
Ability to read and write in English.
Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, staff, physicians, and vendors.
Ability to evaluate and interpret information and make independent decisions.
Ability to respond to pages.
Ability to lift and transfer patients requiring 50–100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25–50 pounds frequently.
Ability to tolerate prolonged walking and standing.
Ability to maintain sensory skills to differentiate clinical signs and symptoms.
Ability to manage stressful situations, including emergency responses to patient incidents.
