Job Overview
This position administers life support care to sick and injured persons in a pre‑hospital setting, in accordance with statewide Treatment Protocols and EMS Medical Control Physicians, as authorized and directed by physician and/or paramedic.
Responsibilities Provide life‑support care to patients in emergency situations following standard protocols and directives from supervising medical personnel.
Qualifications
Mathematical Skills – Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations – State of Alabama EMSP License as EMT, Healthcare Provider CPR Certification, EVOC (must be obtained upon employment/promotions), valid and current driver’s license, and a high school diploma or GED plus a required undergraduate EMT certificate.
