Base Pay Range Monthly part‑time salary range for 20 hours per week: $5,802.50 to $7,263.50.

Job Description and Duties Effective July 1, 2025, the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) will reduce each full‑time employee’s base salary by 3% and award 5 leave credits monthly through June 2027. Part‑time employees are subject to the same prorated conditions. Permanent intermittent employees are also subject to these conditions in proportion to hours worked.

Under the direction of the Chief Nurse Executive or the Supervising Registered Nurse III, the SRN II, CF is responsible for planning, assigning, supervising, and evaluating the work of nursing and other staff within a service line. The SRN II, CF receives, disseminates, and implements policies and procedures, applies supervisory rules, resolves personnel issues, sets goals, and ensures continuity of quality patient care. Actively participates and supports the Complete Care Model.

Minimum Qualifications

Possession of a current license as a registered nurse in California. Candidates who do not yet meet this requirement will be admitted to the examination, but must secure the license before being considered eligible for appointment.

Experience:

One year in the California state service performing the duties of a Supervising Registered Nurse I, Correctional Facility.

Three years in the California state service performing the duties of a Registered Nurse, Correctional Facility.

Three years of registered nursing experience within the last five years, including at least one year in a supervisory capacity and two years in a general acute care hospital. A Bachelor of Science or Master’s Degree in Nursing may substitute for one year of general acute care hospital experience.

Candidates within six months of completing the experience requirements are admitted to the examination but must complete all requirements before appointment.

No Training and Development (T&D) assignment will be considered at this time.
