Outpatient Pharmacy Technician (On-Call) – Kaiser Permanente
Under the direction of a licensed Pharmacist, this role may perform packaging, manipulative, repetitive, and other non-discretionary tasks, including removing drugs from stock; counting, pouring, or mixing pharmaceuticals; placing product into a container; affixing label(s) onto container; and packaging and repackaging.
Essential Responsibilities
Perform packaging, manipulative, repetitive, and other non-discretionary tasks.
Remove drugs from stock.
Count, pour, and mix pharmaceuticals.
Place products in containers and affix labels.
Perform packaging and repackaging tasks.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
No supervisory responsibilities.
Basic Qualifications N/A
Education
High School Diploma/GED.
License, Certification, Registration
Pharmacy Technician License (California).
Additional Requirements
Must be able to type 30 WPM or 6,000 KPH.
Successfully complete the Outpatient Pharmacy Technician qualifying exam.
Complete the Kaiser Outpatient Pharmacy Technician Training Program and pass the test no later than 60 days after start date.
Working knowledge of current drug forms, dosage strengths, and generic/trade names, and traditional equivalents.
Knowledge of Federal & State laws/regulations regarding the provision of pharmaceutical services.
Ability to read, understand, and transcribe pharmaceutical information.
Possess verbal and written English-language communication skills.
Ability to learn and operate pharmacy computer systems and other equipment.
Stand for long periods of time with frequent bending/stooping/lifting or reaching.
Effectively present information one‑on‑one and in small groups to customers, clients, and other employees.
Willingness to work in a Labor Management Partnership environment.
