Position summary The Demand/Supply Planner is responsible for creating and managing the weekly Supply Plan for MTO carpet manufacturing in Troup County facilities as well as MRF flooring imported from vendors. The role includes creating runs, allocating available and future inventory, assigning and maintaining promised product dates (PPD) on customer orders to meet requested dates, reconciling supply and demand using rough cut capacity planning, and working with the scheduling team to learn the master production scheduling process as well as the import supply planning process for imported goods. Responsibilities also cover identifying and communicating capacity issues to internal departments, driving necessary actions to balance backlog with available capacity and inventory, maintaining accurate data inputs for rough cut capacity tools, and updating PPD on orders to ensure Customer Service has accurate and timely finish dates to communicate to customers.
Educational requirements College degree preferred; APICS certification a plus.
Skills and experience
Two to three years of Planning & Customer Service experience in a manufacturing environment.
Demonstrated successful operation of a supply chain flow to meet established service level and inventory goals.
Ability to communicate across all levels of the organization effectively with internal and external global business partners.
Ability to understand complex manufacturing processes.
Computer proficiency required in Word and PowerPoint; expert level proficiency in Excel required; JDE and AS400 experience is a plus.
Employ strong communication skills to effectively gain clarity, understanding, and commitment.
Demonstrate organizational skills by working in a systematic, methodical, and orderly manner.
Ability to multi‑task effectively to meet conflicting deadlines.
Essential duties
Manage and execute the overall demand & supply planning process, including rough cut capacity planning, inventory allocation, and order promising for customer orders for carpet manufactured in Troup County facilities and MRF flooring imported from vendors.
Drive continuous improvement of the planning process.
Communicate with internal business partners to facilitate and direct the day‑to‑day operational execution of the planning process.
Work with Manufacturing, Planning, Scheduling, and Customer Service to ensure changes to customer carpet & MRF flooring demand and promised dates are communicated in a timely manner to both customers and manufacturing.
Cross‑train on all Planning & Scheduling processes to be able to provide backup to key planning activities when needed.
Physical demands Occasional minor lifting (boxes, tiles, etc.).
Work environment Normal work hours 8:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday; weekend work also required. Direct interaction with manufacturing facilities/machinery in an uncontrolled environment, searching racks for lost yarn, rolls, etc.
