GAI Consultants is looking for an Assistant Engineering Manager for our Glen Allen, VA or Pittsburgh, PA office.

Responsibilities

Apply thorough knowledge of current engineering principles and practices across a variety of aspects.

Apply progressively acquired expertise to resolve crucial issues and unique conditions.

Stay informed of new methods and developments, recommending new practices or changes in project emphasis.

Lead moderate‑to‑major projects, ensuring successful delivery.

Analyze complex problems and ethical dilemmas, determining appropriate courses of action.

Serve as technical advisor, applying advanced concepts and methods in an assigned area.

Research and develop new techniques, processes, materials, or products.

Evaluate sustainable performance of complex engineering projects from a systems perspective.

Plan, schedule, and coordinate documents or activities for multiple major projects, or manage an entire project.

Analyze project management plans, apply risk‑management principles, and review operations for compliance.

Define and manage budgets up to $50,000 per year when authorized by GAI's President.

Supervise a staff of engineers and technicians, providing mentorship and fostering creativity, curiosity, flexibility, and dependability.

Represent the specialty area within the practice and liaise with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders.

Communicate strategically and persuasively, integrating effective teamwork and leadership concepts.

Minimum Requirements

10+ years of related engineering experience.

B.S. or M.S. in Engineering or related field.

Professional Engineer (P.E.) license, with reciprocity in multiple states.

Driver's license.
