Purpose of the Job The Senior Park Operations Manager reports directly to the Director of Stadium and Park Operations and is responsible for the daily activities required to run, maintain, and service Houston Sports Park, Houston Dynamo FC, Dash, Houston Dynamo Academy Teams, and all other entities contracted while managing the facility operations department in all aspects. This includes coordinating with cross‑functional departments, managing facility maintenance and projects and contractors, managing department daily operations budget, managing event booking and revenue, daily and event housekeeping, ensuring compliance with regulations, and maintaining a safe and efficient working environment per all policies and applicable laws.
Duties and Responsibilities
Oversee and participate in all aspects of the conversion process for various event(s). Duties include manually setting up and tearing down event equipment including contracted event equipment.
Supervise and train operations and contracted staff.
Assist the Event Services department with event preparation and execution at HSP.
Review complete event set‑ups for compliance with event work orders and instruct operations staff on any necessary corrections or changes.
Maintain informational communication in real time with the Director of Stadium and Park Operations regarding all issues, inventory, weekly schedules, labor tracking, and project updates; including irregularities, discrepancies, damages, loss of property or any other safety concerns.
Oversee daily facility management responsibilities, including daily housekeeping upkeep.
Weekly walkthroughs and inspections throughout Houston Sports Park.
Report to HDFC, Houston Dash, and Houston Dynamo Academy teams as tenants and fulfill requests as approved.
Manage work order system and engage in much decision‑making that is generally governed by procedure and guided by policy.
Assist in maintaining security and services of patrons and employees during all operating hours.
Other duties as assigned.
Qualification Requirements
Minimum of a High School Diploma, or equivalent – Required.
2‑3 years hands‑on sports and event management experience; OR
2‑3 years hands‑on facility management experience – Required.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) – required.
Must have a valid driver’s license – Required.
Must be able to handle manual labor job duties.
Knowledge of current First Aid and safety procedures.
Must be able to work extensive hours, especially on weekends and holidays, and remain flexible to work odd hours.
Must be able to obtain certifications to operate equipment such as pallet jacks, forklifts, scissors lifts and other machinery equipment within 30‑days of employment.
Knowledge in operational procedures, industry terminology, event‑related services, and technical requirements for the types of events anticipated at the facility.
Needs to possess strong leadership qualities and demonstrate ability to carry out tasks in a reliable, productive, and expedient manner that adheres to strict deadlines.
Maintain an effective working relationship with clients, supervisors, employees, exhibitors, patrons, and others encountered in the course of employment.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, And Other Attributes
Ability to work independently to accomplish daily and event duties.
Understand and work from general instructions, specifications, blueprints, sketches, event documents and preventive maintenance schedules, including WO system.
Follow oral and written instructions and communicate effectively with others in both oral and written form.
Organize and prioritize work to meet deadlines. Work effectively under pressure and/or stringent schedule and produce accurate results.
Demonstrate knowledge of practices and procedures related to event set‑up and conversions; typical methods and techniques for cleaning and maintaining the facility equipment; and proper use and care of hand and power tools.
Ability to plan, coordinate and supervise the operational activities with directors, managers, and full‑time operations staff.
Bilingual English/Spanish – preferred.
