Salary: $54,500.00 – $72,700.00
Role Summary The Buyer is responsible for sourcing, verifying, and purchasing electronic components based on order details or project needs. The Buyer will contribute to supply chain strategizing and ensure that project/order objectives are met.
Essential Functions
Sourcing and procurement; experience required in purchasing electronic components and commodities (memory/storage/CPU).
Identification and qualification of potential suppliers.
Identification of qualified materials using online, internal and external sources.
Relationship development and management of new and existing suppliers.
Support customer development activity.
Market analysis of commodity trends, costs, and target customers.
Purchase order placement, management and order expediting.
Assists in the development and implementation of procurement and supply chain strategies.
Meet objectives and KPIs as directed.
Special projects as assigned.
Core Competencies
Intermediate skill level in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Ability to read, write correspondence, and communicate with all members of the organizations, customers, and vendors (internal and external) in a clear, easily understood manner in English.
Strong analytical and negotiation skills; ability to perform intermediate level mathematics such as calculating discounts, percentages, budgets, etc.
Experience outsourcing new vendors overseas.
Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Able to work under pressure and effectively manage stress.
Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
Demonstrated ability to respond appropriately and professionally to customers, colleagues, or direct reports in situations of conflict.
Goal-oriented, ambitious, extremely motivated.
Professional demeanor.
Flexibility – overtime may be required evenings and weekends.
Requirements Education and/or Experience and Physical Requirements
5 years’ experience in purchasing electronic components and commodities (memory/storage/CPU) in a tactical and/or strategic capacity preferred.
(Candidates possessing a supply chain or marketing related degree may be considered without direct experience in electronics commodities)
Demonstrated experience sourcing short and long-term requirements in a fast-paced changing environment preferred.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Must be able to remain in a stationary position for long periods of time during the shift.
Finger, wrist and hand dexterity with repetitive motion.
