This position is responsible for delivering products to customers from Sherwin‑Williams stores using box and flat‑bed trucks. Drivers ensure deliveries are complete, packed correctly, and safely delivered to the correct customer. Drivers are accountable for customer satisfaction and for transporting items in a safe, timely manner.
Job duties involve contact with customers (which may include minors) and access to cash and other payment methods, electronic equipment, personal information, store merchandise and other items of value. The Company therefore requires a criminal‑history review to protect the business, its operations and reputation, as well as the safety of its customers, staff, employees, vendors, contractors, and the general public.
The selected individual will be expected to work at stores within a 15‑mile radius of store #705314, located at 26 Clayton Street, Dorchester, MA 02122.
Responsibilities
Ensure deliveries are prepared to meet customer requirements efficiently.
Load customer orders properly on the truck.
Ensure appropriate forms are completed.
Load, transport, and deliver items to customers safely and in a timely manner.
Maintain the store vehicle and alert the supervisor to repair and servicing needs.
Provide excellent customer service, answer questions, and handle complaints.
Adhere to assigned routes and follow time schedules.
Abide by all transportation laws and maintain a safe driving record.
Prepare reports and other documents related to deliveries.
Operate equipment and machines such as cars, trucks, and forklifts.
Perform other tasks in the store, including warehouse duties, tinting, and mixing customer orders.
Qualifications Minimum Requirements:
Must be at least 21 years of age.
Must be legally authorized to work in the country of employment and have no current or future visa sponsorship requirement.
Must have a valid, unrestricted Driver’s License.
Must have a valid Medical Examiner’s Certificate (MEC) from a Department of Transportation (DOT) licensed medical examiner, or be willing to obtain one within five business days of a conditional offer.
Must be able to retrieve material from shelves and floor stacks and lift and carry up to 50 lbs. frequently and up to 70 lbs. on occasion, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Must be willing to work all scheduled hours, which may include evenings and weekends, with or without reasonable accommodation.
Must read and speak English sufficiently to converse with the general public, understand highway traffic signs and signals, and respond to official inquiries and record entries.
Preferred Qualifications:
Have at least a high‑school diploma or GED.
Have at least one year of experience as a delivery driver.
Have at least one year of experience using material‑handling equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks, order pickers, conveyors).
Have previous work experience selling paint and paint‑related products.
Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in more than one language.
Ability to read, write, comprehend, and communicate in Spanish.
