Role Description Threshold Strategies is seeking a Regional Grassroots Field Director to lead grassroots organizing efforts within an assigned region of Illinois for a major campaign. This is a full-time deployment through mid-March. This role is a leadership position with direct responsibility for building volunteer networks, managing regional stakeholders, executing events, and delivering measurable field results.
You will own grassroots execution in your region—turning relationships into activations and activations into votes.
Key Responsibilities
Build and manage a grassroots operation across your assigned region
Recruit, train, and activate volunteers through relational organizing
Identify and develop regional volunteer leaders and team leads
Drive supporters through the full organizing cycle: introduction, commitment, and activation
Manage relationships with regional community leaders, elected officials, county parties, and local organizations
Represent the campaign professionally and on-message at all times
Leverage stakeholder networks to expand volunteer recruitment and event attendance
Plan and execute regional events, including volunteer trainings, canvassing launches, coalition meetings, and community appearances
Build and manage region-specific coalitions aligned with campaign priorities
Ensure strong attendance through targeted outreach and personal follow-up
Track all regional activity in the campaign CRM accurately and consistently
Report regularly to senior field leadership on volunteer growth, activations, events, and field activity
Use data to adjust regional strategy and improve performance
Meet or exceed regional recruitment, activation, and turnout goals
Maintain strict attention to detail, follow-through, and reporting
Work evenings and weekends as campaign demands require
Communicate proactively with statewide field leadership
Qualifications
Experience in grassroots organizing, field operations, or regional campaign work
Strong leadership, relationship-building, and organizational skills
Comfort using CRM systems, canvassing tools, and performance metrics
Political or Republican campaign experience strongly preferred
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, goal-driven environment
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required
