An Audio Designer at Sight & Sound helps craft our signature sound, shaping how audiences experience His Story through immersive audio in theater, music, and post-production. Blending sound design, music editing, and mixing, this role supports live performance, spatial audio environments, and film‑style post workflows to deliver intentional, powerful soundscapes unique to Sight & Sound.
As An Audio Designer You Will
Develop show‑specific sonic identities; design immersive soundscapes and cue maps aligned with story and emotion.
Support music editing, dialogue/vocal recording, and audio mixing across productions.
Program/test playback systems; Create and program for integrated non‑linear playback systems, sound checks, and live show integration.
Clean/edit vocal tracks; assemble layered sound effects for clarity and cohesion.
Maintain sessions, file structures, cue sheets, and immersive audio systems; perform routine checks and upgrades.
What We Are Looking For In Our Audio Designers
Proficiency in at least one DAW (Nuendo, Pro Tools, Logic)
Familiarity with live sound; interest in immersive storytelling
Team‑oriented and adaptable; with a humble, collaborative, and teachable spirit
Strong organizational and audio detail skills.
Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast‑paced environment.
Strong communication skills, with the ability to engage with individuals with different roles and personalities
Willing to travel throughout the year to the S&S Branson location, as well as other conferences and events
Preferred: experience with show control (QLab, OSC, MIDI, Dante) and basic music theory.
Working in this role would place you in active theatrical and studio settings, with exposure to loud sound levels, mechanical systems, and live animals. It would require you to have occasional ladder use and a comfort with high‑decibel environments.
