Responsibilities Lead store clerk assist with opening and closing the store, assists store customers in donating, selecting and purchasing items, operates and maintains cash register, responds to customers questions, maintains cleanliness and orderliness of the store and ensures security of items and cash register. Inspects donated items that can be used according to established polices and procedures. trains and instructs employees and volunteers in proper methods and procedures; informs supervisor of any staff issues requiring attention. Answers store telephone in a tactful and courteous manner, assist customers by ringing up items, collects monies, counts change and prepares receipts, prepares and balances the cash drawer and runs routine register print-outs, prepares and delivers bank deposits, ensures the security and accountability of all cash register funds and sales records in accordance with established operating procedures. Assist in pricing, tagging and hanging items. Performs other related work as required.
Qualifications Must have a valid drivers license
High School/GED with work experience
Ability to meet attendance requirements, ability to read, write and communicate the English language effectively, ability to operate a cash register, perform routine mathematical computations and count change
Ability to perform continuous walking, stooping, standing and some climbing, ability to frequently walk, kneeling, standing or squatting. Moderate physical effort with sitting, standing, walking, lifting, bending, reaching, twisting, pushing pulling and carrying light to heavy objects up to 50 lbs.
