Aseptic Filling Technician I/II – 3rd Shift

Shift:
11:00 pm – 7:30 am (Sunday–Thursday / Monday–Friday)
Responsibilities Technician I
Responsible for equipment setup and operation in a biologics processing environment for plasma‑derived pharmaceuticals.
Qualified in Class A/B gowning for facility cleaning of fill suites.
Operate support fill equipment such as glass inspection stations, rinser/tunnel, VAM, and over sealer; load carts with vials or syringes.
Perform SIP/PBC operations and filter integrity testing.
Prepare chemical solutions for production use, strictly adhering to department safety rules.
Perform material handling and glass inspection activities.
Maintain general facility housekeeping; minor cleaning, keeping work and production area neat and free from clutter.
Sanitization per procedures, including mopping and disinfecting floors, walls, and equipment.
Operate motorised transport equipment (fork truck, lift jack, etc.) for moving supplies.
Real‑time documentation (e.g., BPR) during production runs and maintain accurate records/logs.
Monitor and operate various computer control systems for production activities (SCADA, Andover).
Technician II
Performs all duties described at the Technician level.
Qualifies for fill‑room independent set‑up and operation in an aseptic environment; demonstrates department‑specific aseptic techniques and capabilities.
Operates and monitors final container lyophilization, heat treatment, pasteurization, and cold box when applicable.
Operates filter integrity tester.
Prepares and labels samples according to BPR and non‑routine requests.
Independently interprets and utilizes information from company support systems.
Assists with initial training responsibilities for the Technician level and trains less experienced Technicians in applicable computer systems.
Maintains acceptable aseptic gowning qualification and media fill certification.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities • Good math and mechanical aptitude; capable of performing skills in an aseptic environment. Production experience in a high‑volume manufacturing environment is desired. Must maintain product sterility, work effectively and efficiently as part of a team, and lift up to 50 lb. Continuous standing, walking, and some bending are required. Off‑shift and overtime work may be necessary.
Requirements
High school diploma or GED required.
One year of regulated industry experience (FDA, USDA, NRC) OR graduation from an accredited college/university with an associate’s or bachelor’s degree OR completion of the Bioworks Certification Program preferred.
For Technician II, one year of experience as an Aseptic Filling Technician, in addition to the above.
Physical Demands and Safety Work is performed in a manufacturing environment with rotating shifts. Employees may be exposed to biological fluids with potential infectious organisms, chemicals, electrical manufacturing equipment, moving machinery, high noise levels, confined spaces, and required personal protective equipment. Tasks include lifting 15‑44 lb for up to 2 h per day, 50 lb max. Frequent hand movements and precise finger coordination are required. Vision and hearing acuity are essential.
