NURSE PRACTITIONER
Job Summary:
Give back to our nation's Veterans! Practitioners will be in a clinic setting to provide one-time Physical Health Assessments to active‑duty military personnel and Compensation and Pension (C&P) evaluations to Veterans, which includes reviewing the PHA form, Functional Capacity Certificate, and any medical records the Service Member brings to the event. Practitioners will also interview Service Members to provide additional details regarding current and past medical issues, and may conduct a brief focused exam based on the claim. Practitioners provide focused assessments, review diagnostics, and document on the 2766 in the Service Member's medical record.
Job Duties:
Provides C&P services to claimants, including taking health histories, performing assessments, and diagnostic testing.
Utilizes assessment and evaluation skills to formulate medical diagnoses and opinions.
Prepares timely, legible, and complete documentation of all claimant care as required by law, regulation, and established policy.
Demonstrates awareness of and sensitivity to claimant rights.
Applies safety principles as identified by established policy.
Participates in continuing education to continually improve skills and stay abreast of current technologies and practices.
Ensures compliance with legal issues, including but not limited to claimant confidentiality and risk management; meets federal, state, and local regulations.
Participates in quality improvement and utilization review activities.
Exhibits a high degree of courtesy, tact, and poise when interacting with claimants, families, and other healthcare professionals.
Adjusts to fluctuating peaks in claimant flow, acuity, and other operational demands while maintaining quality, timeliness, and customer service.
Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
Minimum Qualifications:
Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
Current RN and NP license certification.
Two years of related experience preferred.
Physician Assistant Qualifications (If Applicable):
Completion of a four‑year Physician Assistant baccalaureate program and a year of clinical training, or completion of a two‑year accredited Physician Assistant program plus two years of clinical training.
State accreditation based on certifying exam.
NCCPA certification.
