Job Function: Health Care Provider
This position is responsible for providing acute nursing patient care in a safe, appropriate and effective manner under the direction of a Registered Nurse, in compliance with the LVN Practice Act. Additional responsibilities include collecting patient information, timely and complete documentation of patient care and implementation of assigned tasks, medical orders and plan of care. Integrates patient care standards into all patient care activities.
Essential Job Functions
Consistently applies infection control policies/practices.
Meets population/age specific competencies.
Attends department specific education/training, inservices, and staff meetings.
Participates in department specific performance improvement projects.
Provides for psycho‑social, spiritual and cultural needs of patients, family, and others.
Provides education to patients, family, and others.
Handles emergency situations safely and competently.
Safely and competently administers medications, intravenous therapy, etc.
Performs duties/responsibilities related to patient care with competence.
Safely and competently uses equipment, supplies, and performs therapeutic/diagnostic interventions.
Education / Training / Experience Graduate of an LVN School of Nursing.
One year acute care experience as an LVN in Medical Surgical Services required. In lieu of this experience, consideration will be made for an employee with strong education and associated experiential background and/or work history.
Basic Arrhythmia training.
Licenses / Certifications
Current CA LVN license
Current Healthcare Provider BLS
Current Healthcare Provider ACLS
NIHSS
IV certification
Phlebotomy certification
EKG Certification
MAB (for ED)
