This new Health and Wellness Center is a 60,000‑square‑foot facility that integrates primary care, urgent care, advanced imaging, and specialists into one convenient location for commuters and residents throughout the Northeast.
Responsibilities
Assist in the diagnosis, treatment, and management of all patients with pulmonary disorders in both critical and non‑critical areas pursuant to a prescribed physician’s order.
Perform cardiopulmonary evaluation, monitoring, respiratory therapy treatment techniques, procedures, and education for patients and families.
Analyze and interpret data from physiological specimens, conduct diagnostic tests, studies, and research related to cardiopulmonary and neurophysiological aspects of respiratory care.
Administer and/or monitor medical gases, mechanical ventilation support, artificial airway care, bronchopulmonary hygiene, pharmacologic agents, and cardiopulmonary rehabilitation procedures.
Apply scientific principles to identify, prevent, remediate, research, and rehabilitate acute or chronic cardiopulmonary dysfunction.
Administer therapeutic respiratory care procedures and set up related equipment as prescribed by the physician.
Record all pertinent information of therapeutic procedures and patient responses in EPIC.
Set up, verify function, operate, and monitor all invasive and non‑invasive respiratory equipment.
Participate in managing patients on life support systems, recommending and performing appropriate changes based on blood gas results and weaning studies.
Respond to and participate in all emergency and trauma codes.
Change and maintain ventilators and respiratory equipment according to infection control policy.
Run quality controls on blood gas analyzers.
Monitor and manage all oxygen, nitrous oxide, and nitrogen manifold cylinders.
Retrieve, clean, and assemble respiratory equipment using disinfecting solutions and cleaning agents per infection control protocols.
Identify patient needs and modify care to meet those needs, communicating effectively across all patient acuity levels.
Lift a minimum of 35 lbs., push and pull a minimum of 165 lbs., and stand for a minimum of 6 hours a day.
Adhere to the standards identified in the Medical Center's organizational competencies.
Perform other work as requested by the Director or designee.
Qualifications Education, Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required:
Graduate of an AMA‑approved Respiratory Care program.
Associate’s degree.
Comprehensive knowledge of all clinical aspects of Respiratory Care.
Preferred Licenses and Certifications
NJ Respiratory Care Practitioner License.
NJ Certified Respiratory Therapist.
BLS AHA Basic Health Care Life Support HCP Certification.
Advanced Cardiac Life Support Certification.
Neonatal Resuscitation Program.
Pediatric Advanced Life Support Certification.
Compensation and Benefits Minimum hourly rate:
$41.76 . Health, dental, vision, paid leave, tuition reimbursement, and retirement benefits are included. Shift differentials may apply for evening, night, or weekend shifts.
