Seasoned Clinical Therapist with Expertise in Couples' Counseling

KDM Counseling Group provides a friendly, compassionate, and collaborative approach to relationship therapy in Saint Petersburg, Florida. We are seeking a skilled Clinical Therapist with significant experience in Couples and Marriage Counseling to join our team.

Job Duties:
Provides high-quality, compassionate, and ethical mental health treatment (in‑office or online) to couples, individuals, and families. Experience with couples counseling and relationship dynamics is essential. EMDR‑trained clinician is a PLUS. Develops and implements treatment plans tailored to address couples' unique needs, including communication, conflict resolution, and relationship strengthening. Completes psychotherapy services for diverse populations, focusing on relational and systemic approaches. Establishes continuity of care in the best interest of the clients. Makes clinical recommendations and provides support through the electronic records system. Maintains secure client information per HIPAA standards and keeps case files up‑to‑date within the electronic health record (EHR). Actively participates as a positive member of the clinical environment.
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Strong understanding of couples' dynamics, family systems, and their impact on mental health. Proficiency in applying evidence‑based interventions with couples experiencing relational distress or conflict. Skill in working with diverse cultural backgrounds. Ability to work independently and implement effective time‑management strategies. Commitment to personal self‑care to maintain clinical effectiveness. Positive team interactions and collaborative spirit with other clinic staff. Awareness of personal strengths and readiness for appropriate referrals when necessary.
Education and Experience:
Master’s Degree in a mental health‑related field. Registered Intern or Licensed within the State of Florida. Specific experience and interest in couples and marital counseling are required. Previous experience in office‑based counseling and knowledge of EHR systems are desirable but not required.
