Nurse Manager - Virtual Care - On-site

The Nurse Manager for the Nemours Virtual Care Operations Center provides leadership and operational oversight for systemwide virtual care resources, including nurses, technicians, and support staff. Nemours is leading the way in virtual care, rethinking how and where pediatric care is delivered through innovative models that span inpatient and outpatient settings. This onsite position at the Jacksonville Home Office ensures the safe, efficient, and high‑quality delivery of virtual care programs by leveraging a continuous improvement mindset to rapidly implement, evaluate, and optimize services.
On site, M‑F; occasional travel to Nemours Orlando and Nemours Delaware; supports overnight and weekend admin coverage as part of a call model with the virtual care leadership team.
Inpatient Monitoring:
Hemodynamic surveillance and continuous video observation for patients requiring sitter‑level care.
Advanced Care at Home (ACaH):
Providing hospital‑level care in the home setting.
Other Virtual Care Programs:
Telehealth coordination and emerging models of care.
Position Responsibilities
Leadership & Staff Management: Recruit, hire, and supervise virtual care nurses, technicians, and support staff; develop schedules ensuring 24/7 coverage and manage workloads; provide coaching, training, and competency validation; conduct regular staff meetings.
Operational Oversight: Ensure adherence to protocols for inpatient monitoring, virtual sitter services, and home‑based care programs; partner with IT and biomedical teams to maintain technology reliability and uptime; monitor expenses and assure compliance with the budget, providing justification for necessary capital and operational expenses.
Quality & Safety: Monitor performance metrics (response times, escalation compliance, patient safety indicators); maintain audit readiness and compliance with HIPAA, Joint Commission, and Nemours standards.
Continuous Improvement: Apply Lean and process improvement principles to optimize workflows and program outcomes; rapidly implement and assess new virtual care initiatives.
Position Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Nursing is required; Master’s is preferred.
Current American Heart Association BLS & PALS certification required.
Current RN licensure in the state of Florida is required.
Minimum of 5 years of pediatric nursing experience is required; leadership experience is preferred.
