Phlebotomy Technician I
Knapp Medical Center in Weslaco, Texas is seeking a Phlebotomy Technician I to collect blood specimens, maintain equipment, record patient data, and support patient care. This is a per diem (PD/PRN) position.

Responsibilities
Conduct skin puncture or venipuncture on patients of all ages to obtain blood specimens.
Perform computer data entry, filing, telephone communication, and other clerical duties.
Apply knowledge of laboratory test terminology.
Demonstrate proper phlebotomy technique and equipment use for all patient groups.
Process specimens for microbiology, immunology, hematology, coagulation, urinalysis, chemistry, and blood bank.
Process or load specimens on automated laboratory instrumentation following established policies.
Assist in picking up samples at hospital/OR, sorting, inventory, replenishing supplies, and other tasks as assigned.
Maintain cleanliness of storage areas, trays, centrifuges, refrigerators, freezers, and work areas.
Other duties as assigned by department manager/director.
Qualifications
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Blue‑Line BLS certification within 45 days of hire and maintained.
Minimum of one year of clinical laboratory experience (preferred).
