At Wellstar Health System, we seek a dedicated RN to join our acute care team. The role focuses on delivering high‑quality, patient‑centered care in a collaborative, evidence‑based environment.
Shift Day (United States of America) – Full‑time (Night shift: 7 pm–7 am)
Job Summary As a Clinical Nurse, you will be a proactive member of an interdisciplinary team, providing individualized, safe, and effective patient care while upholding the Georgia Professional Nurse Practice Act and all relevant clinical standards.
Core Responsibilities and Essential Functions
Perform the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, evaluation) using evidence‑based practice and critical thinking.
Provide relationship‑based, patient‑centered care, adapting services to reflect cultural diversity and individual patient characteristics.
Partner with patients and significant others to coordinate care, using appropriate communication methods (bedside shift reports, interdisciplinary rounds, planned teaching).
Practice current clinical standards and collaborate in a respectful, inclusive environment.
Coordinate delivery and documentation of safe, quality patient care, ensuring timely documentation and respectful interdisciplinary communication.
Demonstrate teamwork and collaboration while being fiscally responsible, promoting recruitment and retention of all healthcare team members.
Participate in performance improvement activities, research utilization, and shared governance at all levels.
Complete ongoing competency assessment and mandatory education, including population‑specific education.
Serve as preceptor or mentor for other professional nurses and interprofessional staff or students.
Promote evidence‑based practice, nursing research, and performance improvement.
Participate in data collection, pose clinical questions, consult experts, and use appropriate resources.
Plan for patient care across the continuum, develop protocols in collaboration with care managers and other team members.
Support efficient use of human and material resources.
Required Minimum Education
Associate’s Degree in Nursing or Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing (Preferred)
Required Licenses and Certifications
Registered Nurse (Single State) or RN – Multi‑state Compact
Basic Life Support (BLS) – Instructor
Additional Licenses and Certifications All required certifications must be in place upon hire unless otherwise stated.
Required Minimum Experience
Less than 1 year post‑graduation completion of an accredited or approved nursing program with required clinical hours.
Direct Patient Care Experience Preferred: Experience in acute‑care medical‑surgical settings.
Skills and Competencies
Knowledge of the Georgia Professional Nurse Practice Act and the American Nurses Association Code of Ethics.
Strong analytical and critical‑thinking abilities.
Effective communication and cultural competence.
Commitment to evidence‑based practice and continuous learning.
