This is a
military technician
position with the United States Army Civil Affairs and Psychological Operations Command, 443 Civil Affairs Battalion, 304 Civil Affairs Brigade, 353 Civil Affairs Command located in Newport, Rhode Island. The position requires active membership as a Soldier in the Army Reserve before the start date can be set. Organize programs to support operational requirements.
Monitor projects for administrative errors.
Enforce organizational practices.
Review correspondence prior to submission.
Provide technical guidance on administrative activities.
Assemble resources for organizational training events.
Update policies applicable to the organization.
Utilize various automation programs simultaneously.
Conditions of Employment
Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
This position requires active membership as a Soldier in the U.S. Army Reserve (USAR).
Completion of the Unit Administrator Basic Course within 18 months of appointment.
Completion of the Unit Pay Administrator Course within 18 months of appointment.
Work may require evenings, nights, holidays, and/or weekends, including modification in shifts and/or tour of duty.

Education & Experience Specialized experience: One year of experience that includes researching data for program evaluations, providing guidance to staff on organizational requirements, coordinating projects or special programs, and utilizing office automation systems (spreadsheets, word processing, databases). This is typical of a GS‑07 position.

Education: Master’s or equivalent graduate degree or two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary for the position (e.g., Organizational Management and Leadership, Public Administration). Transcripts required.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may qualify if the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%.
To compute: (total months of experience ÷ 12) + (complete graduate semester hours beyond 18 ÷ 18). Transcripts required.
