Job Overview RWJBarnabas Health is seeking a highly dedicated Licensed Practical Nurse for Community Medical Center.
Community Medical Center is a 592‑bed, fully accredited acute care hospital offering area residents world‑class medical treatment with the comforts of hometown care. Opened in 1961, CMC has evolved into the state's newest teaching hospital with four residency programs and Ocean County's largest and most active health care facility—caring for over 21,500 inpatients, 178,000 outpatients and 73,700 emergency department patients each year.
Qualifications
Graduated from an accredited program of Practical Nursing
Strong communication and organizational skills
Proficient computer skills
Certifications and Licenses Required
Licensed by the New Jersey State Board of Nursing as an LPN
BLS certification
Maintains required Heart Saver CPR Certification/course completion status
Preferred
Prior experience in a behavioral health setting helpful

Responsibilities
Performs and documents nursing care within LPN scope of practice and hospital policies and procedures
Notifies Nurse Manager or Charge Nurse of responsibilities and/or changes in patient status
Takes appropriate action including recording and reporting
Understands the importance of the interdisciplinary process
Promotes continuity of nursing care and interdisciplinary interventions
Participates in patient and family education under supervision of RN
Recognizes and respects patient and family rights in a culturally and religiously sensitive environment of care
Requests guidance from Manager, RN and other resources when appropriate
Consistently appraises clinical performance and learning needs through self‑evaluation
Exhibits consistent professional behavior and is accountable for actions with regard to professional issues
Formal Education and Job Related Experience
Graduate of an accredited school of practical nursing
Minimum of one year nursing experience with rehabilitation and/or pediatric experience preferred
Requirement for per diem at least one year of pediatric nursing experience
Evidence of interpersonal skill and ability to collaborate with others
Certification
American Heart Association BLS Provider Certification required
License
Current NJ LPN license
