Yale New Haven Health is looking for REGISTERED NURSE-Milford Campus ICU RN in New Britain, CT.

In accordance with the Connecticut Nurse Practice Act and the American Nurses Association Scope and Standards, the RN practices within a legal and ethical framework, demonstrating leadership, delegation, collaboration, effective communication, and a commitment to quality outcomes. The RN fosters therapeutic relationships with patients and families, ensures culturally respectful care, and employs evidence‑based practice to attain patient‑centered goals.
Responsibilities
Application of the ANA Scope and Standards of Practice (2015): utilize the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, outcome identification, planning, implementation, evaluation) to provide competent care. Engage in coordination of care, health teaching, health promotion, and continuous evaluation of patient outcomes.
Adherence to the ANA Standards of Professional Performance (2015), including ethical practice, culturally congruent care, effective communication, collaboration, leadership, education, research, quality improvement, resource utilization, and environmental health. The RN is accountable for professional actions, fosters leadership within clinical settings, and promotes safe, fiscally responsible practices.
Qualifications Education: Graduation from an accredited nursing school (BSN preferred). All newly hired RNs must possess current BCLS certification or obtain it within one month of hire.
Experience: Minimum one year of inpatient RN experience. Participation in the SPIRE clinical advancement program is encouraged.
Licensure: Licensed and registered nurse in the State of Connecticut. Clinical specialty certification highly encouraged.
Physical Demand: Requires prolonged standing, walking, and use of sight, hearing, and touch. Exposure to infectious diseases, emotional and mental challenges, and potentially heavy patient handling (5–300 pounds) is expected.
