The Assistant Professor of Health Sciences teaches courses within the School of Health Sciences, which includes concentrations in Public Health and Patient Navigation. Service to the college and scholarship are also required. This position reports directly to the Department Chair of Health Sciences and is a 10‑month appointment. Priority will be given to candidates who have prior experience in higher education teaching and community partnership development.
Responsibilities
Effectively teach and evaluate health science students in both classroom and practical learning settings.
Collaborate with other faculty, campus, and service learning partners to ensure that student learning and program outcomes are met.
Mentor/advise students as assigned by the school.
Teach in simulation and practice laboratories as assigned.
Qualifications
Doctoral degree in Public Health, Health Science or a related field. Doctoral candidates with anticipated graduation date of May 2026 will be considered.
1‑2 years of teaching in higher education.
Involvement with community partnership development.
Background in any of the following areas: Public Health, Health Administration, or clinical care.
Proficiency with D2L Learning Management System, Banner INB, and Microsoft Office software.
Experience working with a global student population.
Abilities
Must be able to develop, implement, and evaluate teaching plans for classroom and clinical settings.
Must be collegial with faculty, staff, and students.
Skills
Must demonstrate effective oral and written communication skills.
Must have collaborative partnership‑building skills.
