is hiring an
Emergency Assistance Coordinator

Location : 150 Appleton St., Lowell, MA
Hours/week:
25 hours per week / 40 hours per week during the holiday season
Exemption:
Non-exempt
Pay Range : $15.00 - $20.00 per hour
*starting pay varies depending on experience and qualifications*
Deliver direct social service assistance to qualified individuals in need of emergency food, utility aid, and seasonal programs.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Respond promptly to correspondence and phone calls related to the food pantry, utility assistance, and seasonal assistance programs.
Conduct client intake and assessments prior to food distribution.
Maintain all records in accordance with established policies, including completing data entry in statistical software.
Coordinate volunteers to support food pantry operations and seasonal toy and food distributions.
Order, schedule, and arrange food pickups for the pantry.
Ensure the pantry is clean, organized, and well maintained, including stocking shelves, maintaining refrigerators and freezers, sweeping, mopping, dusting, and performing general cleaning tasks.
Provide clients with information on additional community services available to them.
Adhere to all client confidentiality standards and privacy regulations.
Coordinate seasonal assistance programs for eligible individuals, including the Christmas Angel Tree program, application intake for Christmas and Thanksgiving assistance, volunteer coordination, and distribution day logistics.
Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of the position.
Physical Requirements:
Sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or occasional continuous basis.
Grasp, push, pull objects such as reference materials, files, file cabinet drawers, and reach overhead.
Ability to load and to change settings, devices, fixtures, on various equipment used in and around an office environment
Operate telephone and other electronic communication devices.
Operate various other office equipment including personal computers, copiers, fax machines, and scanning equipment.
Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. occasionally.
Ability to be creative, original, intuitive, and perceptive.
Ability to think logically and critically.
Ability to envision a project from beginning to end.
Ability to solve complex problems, make appropriate judgments and decisions
Qualifications Education Requirements: High School Diploma or equivalent
Work Experience: Preferred experience working with a similar program
Other Qualifications:
Able to work both independently and collaboratively
Capable of managing multiple tasks with minimal supervision
Flexible and adaptable in a changing environment
Strong organizational skills
Strong interpersonal relationship abilities
Effective problem-solving skills
Demonstrated proficiency in written and verbal communication
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
Must hold a valid driver’s license; use of an official vehicle may be required
