Make a Difference The Environmental Services Supervisor oversees the day-to-day operations of the Environmental Services department, ensuring a clean, safe, and compliant hospital environment. As a member of the leadership team, this role provides hands‑on support, coaching, and guidance to EVS staff while maintaining high standards of service, safety, and performance.

Key Responsibilities

Oversee daily EVS operations, staffing, and work assignments to ensure adequate coverage and quality outcomes

Collaborate with others in a team setting, have excellent communication skills, and a positive attitude toward problem‑solving.

Ensure cleanliness and sanitation standards are met across all hospital areas

Participate in interviewing, hiring, orientation, and onboarding of EVS staff

Coach, mentor, and re‑educate staff as needed to support performance and competency development

Maintain knowledge of EVS Partner and Floor Tech functions and ensure staff competencies are up to date

Respond promptly to service requests and effectively deploy staff to meet operational needs

Enforce safety rules, regulations, and infection prevention standards

Support departmental and hospital quality improvement initiatives

Assist with departmental goals, policies, procedures, capital planning, and organizational changes

Demonstrate professionalism and provide service recovery in a courteous and timely manner

Assist with management of regulated waste (including CHMW), as assigned

Exceptional Skills and Qualifications High School Diploma or GED equivalent is preferred.

One (1) year lead or supervisory experience in Environmental Services or similar field required

Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills, with a focus on service excellence, safety, and continuous improvement

Ability to collaborate with others in a team setting, have excellent communication skills, and a positive attitude toward problem‑solving.

Demonstrates customer service skills to provide exceptional patient and family experience

Takes initiative to help others

Ability to effectively manage a team
