Position Summary
The Marketing & Communications Professional leads the development and execution of marketing and communications campaigns by managing a small creative team, including one graphic designer, and actively contributing to content creation. This role produces materials for diverse channels such as print and broadcast media, electronic publications, social media platforms, and websites. In collaboration with Georgia Center Marketing and Communications leadership, this individual helps implement marketing strategies and budgets. Responsibilities include planning, producing, and overseeing all components necessary to deliver assigned marketing and communication initiatives.
Responsibilities
Proactively monitor project progress, identify and flag potential risks, and communicate status updates to all relevant parties to ensure projects stay on track and are delivered on time.
Manage all project documentation and final assets, ensuring they are organized, version‑controlled, and easily accessible to the team for future reference.
Introduce improvements and best practices as required.
Plan, develop, and oversee content creation for web, digital platforms, and print.
Collaborate with internal stakeholders on developing the necessary accompanying visuals and copy.
Plan, develop, and oversee the creation of high‑quality Georgia Center stories (written and visual) which illustrate the unit's impact to stakeholders in coordination with the unit's evaluation and assessment efforts.
Partner with the Vice President for Public Service and Outreach communications team to ensure consistency and alignment.
Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and training of the Graphic Designer and other production staff within the Marketing and Communications division.
Provide ongoing supervision, including performance reviews, job assignments, and retention strategies to build a strong, engaged team.
Develop and maintain an operational calendar for programs and event series, identifying both new and recurring marketing activities critical to the Georgia Center’s long‑term growth. This includes supporting ongoing paid media campaigns and assisting in managing relationships with external vendors and agencies.
Deliver regular reports on marketing performance, focusing on ROI and continuous optimization of campaigns.
Support strategic Georgia Center initiatives as assigned by management.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities and/or Competencies
Bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, business, or a related field.
Experience in a project coordinator, assistant, or junior project management role.
Solid understanding of project management principles and experience managing projects within a project management platform.
Excellent organizational, multitasking, and time‑management skills.
Proficient in digital marketing channels such as social media, email marketing, and web content.
Strong verbal, written, and visual communication skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
Self‑starter capable of managing multiple projects in a fast‑paced, deadline‑driven environment while maintaining quality.
Meticulous attention to detail and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
Excellent customer service skills.
Proficient in office software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams.
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent and 2 years of professional experience.
Physical Demands
Sitting for long hours and working in front of a computer.
Salary Advertised Salary: $48,000‑55,000
