Serving under the Division of Student Affairs, the University Unions’ mission is to enhance the student experience and enrich campus life by providing cultural, educational, social and recreational programs and related goods and services to the campus community.
Purpose Reporting to the Senior Graphics Designer, this position provides graphic design from concept development to final production, including specification development and solicitation of bids when needed.
Responsibilities
Evaluate design concepts and layouts based on knowledge of design and layout principles, using publications and purchased materials as necessary.
Interact with clients to determine, develop and refine advertising and graphic design pieces to meet their needs, coordinating projects with other creative service providers.
Use computer graphic software and traditional design methods to produce creative materials such as brochures, newsletters, logos, catalogues, ads, posters, promotional materials, t‑shirts, banners, displays, digital slideshows and web graphics, ensuring quality, brand consistency and production deadlines.
Maintain an archive of current jobs, photos and graphic images.
Maintain a job schedule, prioritize, and track job projects.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in communications, graphic design or visual arts.
Two or more years of professional experience using Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, After Effects).
Excellent organizational, problem‑solving and communication skills.
Ability to challenge the status quo while maintaining brand integrity.
Experience managing multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.
Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications
Professional experience in higher education; experience training student content creators.
Salary
$52,000
Working Conditions
May work around standard office equipment.
Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation.
Frequent standing and sitting and the use of manual dexterity.
Candidate required to pass a background check before starting employment.
Work Shift This is an on‑site position – Monday through Friday.
At times, the position may require nights, evenings and/or weekends as specific business needs require.
