Our client, a leader in the automotive manufacturing space, is seeking a Tax Specialist to join its finance team. This role offers the opportunity to manage tax compliance and reporting while collaborating with accounting and treasury functions in a dynamic environment.
About the Role The Tax Specialist will be responsible for preparing and filing tax returns, analyzing accounts, and supporting audits. This position ensures compliance with tax regulations, broader regulatory requirements, and internal compliance standards, maintaining accurate financial reporting while providing hands‑on support across multiple tax areas.
Responsibilities
Prepare and file sales/use, payroll, property tax, and related returns
Review invoices, fixed assets, and accounting documents for tax accuracy
Prepare monthly tax journal entries and government surveys
Assist with tax audits and respond to government notices
Perform reconciliations, analysis, and reporting as assigned
Collaborate with Cost, General Accounting, and Treasury teams
Ensure compliance with internal management systems – Business Management System (BMS), Environmental Management System (EMS), and Safety Management System (SMS).
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
2+ years of experience in tax/accounting
Proficiency in Microsoft Office; SAP experience preferred
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
Occasional travel (foreign & domestic); flexibility for weekends, holidays, and on‑call duty at times
