Job Description As a Technical Coordinator for Maintenance you will be directly responsible for a multi-million dollar inventory management system. You will manage the purchasing, inventory, and execution of the site's central crib system aligned with standard GM Corporate standards, fostering teamwork and cooperation. Work is technical, using independent judgment within the limits of the GM Workplace Safety System, Maximo and GMS, focusing on Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness, Cost, and Environment (SPQRCE). You will also support the effective use of personnel, material, and equipment, and handle complex technical problems.

What You Will Do

Manage inventory of the general stores crib by monitoring min/max levels, determining usage and setting ordering levels for indirect material

Recommend solutions to problems

Act with urgency fulfilling indirect material orders to prevent production downtime related to machine breakdown or out-of-stock spare parts

Manage repair process of high-dollar indirect materials

Manage employee feedback for indirect material items and ensure all items are procured in a timely manner

Manage packaging orders for plant production

Manage open purchase orders with suppliers and resolve issues

Manage HP printer supplies via HP portal

Perform inventory adjustments for daily communication errors between SAP and GSC software

Perform inventory adjustments for daily audit, pick change, or store change

Resolve payment issues by working with vendors, accounts receivable, and GM purchasing

Manage the site's fastener program

Process purchase requisitions within SAP and work with vendors and Global GM Purchasing to source complex materials

Maintain 10,000+ inventory electronic photograph records

Manage the site's chemical inventory

Meet schedule and quality requirements

Build and maintain a good working relationship with employees, union, and management

Consistently administer and comply with the terms of local and national labor agreements

Implement corporate policies and safety and good housekeeping practices

Maintain frequent contact and collaboration with others outside the work group

Process crib inventory stocking requests from plant engineers for new and existing codes to update and maintain accurate inventory information

Perform daily and weekly data reconciliations to ensure SAP and crib system agree on indirect material levels of the plant

Provide daily and monthly crib transaction reporting to plant management to ensure accurate crib inventory levels and department budgets are met

Act as lead with IT Innovation Center to improve the security and functionality of crib system software

Complete annual corporate mandated Control Self Assessments – E&O, High Theft, Accurate Balance of Records, MRP Release changes, 100% count of crib inventory

Act as plant lead for SAP/UAT testing and launches for indirect material (3 migrations to date)

Bulk air supply invoice and PO management

Conduct daily usage review of crib items to ensure adequate levels of inventory and eliminate excess stock or overhead costs

Manage and process all crib code requests (new set-ups, part number changes, etc.)

Remediate all invoicing, receiving, and inventory discrepancies related to indirect material

Work with local, national, and international vendors to ensure uninterrupted workflow and plant production as it relates to delivery schedules of indirect material

Work with vendors to resolve inaccuracies with incorrect indirect material received into the plant

Work with global purchasing organization to ensure purchase orders are issued accurately and timely to support production schedules

Place special orders for plant personnel upon request for ongoing projects

Responsible for expediting orders for plant personnel as needed for rush orders to support production schedules

Act as customer service representative through daily walk‑ins, phone calls, and email interactions in the office

Establish a course of action to accomplish the completion of a high number of simultaneous jobs and/or projects

Required Qualifications

Knowledge and ability to run SAP

Degree from a college or university graduate (or proven equivalent experience)

Experience in inventory management system, supply chain, or related field

Advanced analytical and problem‑solving techniques to resolve a wide range of non‑standard problems

Strong oral and written communication skills, interpersonal and collaborative skills, and great follow‑up skills with attention to detail

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge and execution of aspects of the UAW/GM Workplace Safety System

Knowledge and ability to run Maximo and Archibus

Compensation

The expected base compensation for this role is $76,100.00 – $121,600.00. Actual base compensation within the identified range will vary based on factors relevant to the position.

Bonus Potential: An incentive pay program offers payouts based on company performance, job level, and individual performance.
