Major Responsibilities
Manage the business office department for a skilled nursing facility.
Lead and coordinate all aspects of the business office, including supervision of billing, collections, resident trust accounting, and accounts payable functions.
Supervise, hire, and train business office staff.
Ensure adequate staffing to minimize coverage gaps.
Oversee resident trust accounting system, safeguarding patient funds.
Manage patient billing system to ensure accurate billing information, coordinating with other departments as needed.
Handle all patient‑related accounts receivable balances, including Medicare, Medicaid, insurance, private, and other payers.
Collect Accounts Receivable (A/R) balances from residents in‑house and after discharge.
Manage Medicaid pending application and conversion processes.
Perform month‑end closing of billing system per company policy and timelines.
Process charges, adjustments, refunds, payment postings, and write‑offs.
Ensure accurate and timely billing and collection letter processing.
Provide billing information to the Central Billing Office to clear claim edits and rejections.
Process accounts payable invoices accurately and timely.
Implement innovative ideas and concepts to improve systems and processes and develop a successful management team.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree from a four‑year college or university; or 1–2 years related experience and/or training; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Minimum of one (1) year experience in a skilled nursing facility business office with specific billing/collecting and patient trust accounting experience.
Prior supervisor experience in a business office setting preferred.
Experience with Point Click Care (PCC) billing system preferred.
Experience with National Data Care Resident Funds Management System (RFMS) preferred.
