Under the direction of the Child Life Coordinator, this position supervises, assesses, plans, coordinates, facilitates, and evaluates psychosocial, developmental, and educational activities for pediatric patients (infants through adolescents) and their families. Provides comprehensive care based on the principles of growth and development across the lifespan of patients served. The position demonstrates the professional skills and behaviors to promote comprehensive, cost‑effective, and meaningful healthcare for consumers in a diverse healthcare environment.
Hourly Pay Rate: $34.00 Qualifications
Education:
Requires a bachelor’s degree in child Life, Education, Child Development, or related field. Master’s degree is preferred.
Experience:
Prefer at least one (1) year of Child Life experience or prior acute care Pediatric experience.
Specialized Training:
Must have completed a Child Life Internship.
Certification/Licensure:
Requires a Certified Child Life Specialist (CCLS) certification or must be attained within the first year of employment. CPR required. Requires a BLS card obtained through an approved American Heart Association (AHA) training center upon hire.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to work with culturally diverse patients and families. Good interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, with basic grammar, spelling, and punctuation. Ability to read, write, and speak effectively in English. Bilingual skills desired. Excellent organizational, time‑management, and deadline‑meeting skills. Basic computer knowledge.
