Overview Performs routine and specialized laboratory tests and procedures for use in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases. Utilizes requisite equipment, instruments, and computer systems. Evaluates and reports patient results using considerable independent judgment within the scope of established testing methods. Performs quality control procedures and contributes to the maintenance of the laboratory equipment and supplies. Assists in the development and implementation of new procedures and instrumentation. May assume responsibility for laboratory projects or functions such as performance improvement, safety, quality control, regulatory, administrative, staff development, and computer systems. Trains new employees and/or students and serves as a resource for less experienced staff. Performs other duties as assigned.

Operate and maintain laboratory equipment.
Evaluate and report patient results.
Perform quality control procedures.
Assist in the development and implementation of new procedures and instrumentation.
Take on lab projects or function responsibilities.
Train new staff or students.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Licensure
American Society for Clinical Pathology Preferred.
National Credentialing Agency for Laboratory Personnel Certification Preferred.
Education
Associate's Degree in Medical Technology or Medical Laboratory Technology required.
Bachelor's Degree in Clinical Laboratory Science preferred.
Experience
2 Years in Clinical Laboratory, moderate and high complexity testing preferred.
