Location West Palm Beach: Main Campus, Fort Lauderdale: Branch of West Palm Beach; Position located on campus.
Description Faculty members are responsible for the delivery of quality education services. This entails engaging students, fostering learning, role modeling professionalism, and ultimately producing competently trained students prepared for professional careers. This includes working with the
Associate Director of Nursing (ADON)
over the assigned cohort, the
Director of Nursing (DON) , and other campus faculty and staff to ensure consistent and high‑quality delivery of assigned courses.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Full‑time Faculty must become ATI Champions within 90 days of hire date.
Prepare course plans and materials.
Deliver course lectures/facilitate labs and/or clinical rotations.
Monitor equipment and supply needs.
Maintain classroom.
Seek out an approved substitute in case of faculty member’s need for absence.
Enforce HCI policies (attendance, dress code, clinical policies, etc.).
Participate in orientation, graduation, and pinning ceremonies.
Work on retention plans and program development.
Attend staff and faculty meetings.
Participate in committees and knowledge sharing forums.
Facilitate student engagement.
Direct and assess student progress in achieving theory and performance requirements of the program.
Monitor student progress and follow‑up as needed.
Provide weekly feedback reports to the ADON, DON, Senior Vice President of Academic Affairs, and Group Campus President/Chief Operating Officer.
Maintain any relevant licensures, certifications, and other required paperwork for personnel file.
Maintain a minimum of eight (8) hours of Continuing Education Units (CEUs) annually by participating in professional development and in‑services (continuing education, professional activities, conference presentations, scholarly publications, etc.).
Encourage students to submit course evaluations and use feedback to improve course delivery.
Maintain regular and reliable attendance.
Participate in ACEN and other accreditation activities.
Comply with all governmental regulations and standards of accreditation.
Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited program.
Preferred: Master’s degree in Nursing (MSN) or equivalent.
Current, active, Registered Nurse (RN) and/or Advanced Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) license issued by the Florida Department of Health.
Current and active Basic Life Support certification from the American Heart Association.
Minimum of four (4) years of related practical work experience in the subject area(s) taught.
Excellent written and oral communication, analytical, teaching, computer literacy (Microsoft Office) skills.
Ability to manage people and projects.
Knowledgeable in course content; effective in directing and evaluating student learning and lab performance.
Prepared in educational theory and techniques.
Willingness to follow high ethical standards.
Workload Expectations
Workload is dependent upon faculty classification.
Faculty will start and end on time for assigned courses and clinicals.
Faculty must obtain prior approval from the ADON/DON if their assignment will require overtime.
Teaching must be in face‑to‑face contact with students in didactic, clinical, and lab simulation experiences.
Full‑time faculty required to teach a minimum of 30 hours per week and attend all meetings, serve on accreditation committees, and accept other duties as assigned.
Compensation Annual merit‑based salary increases are awarded to all eligible full‑time and part‑time faculty members.
Physical Demands Professional office setting and higher education teaching environment. Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds.
Working Environment Professional office setting: moderate noise levels; controlled indoor climate. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform essential functions.
Location Position is onsite and based out of West Palm Beach (Main Campus) and Fort Lauderdale (branch).
